OUR CLUBS

 

Film Club: The Film Club caters to movie buffs. Film screening-cum- discussion sessions are held in the college. Members are taken to watch select films at Film Festivals. Interactions with personalities from the film industry also take place.

Arts Club: The Arts Club is the wing of the College that bears responsibility for conducting various cultural programmes and competitions within the campus. The Club also supervises and trains our students for Intercollegiate, State and National Level Competitions. Thanks to its efforts we have had great success at University Youth Festivals, Hindi Prachar Sabha competitions etc.

 

Entrepreneurship Development Club: Self Employment is the need of the hour in Kerala. Women especially have to be equipped and trained for the purpose. The club aims at making students aware of market trends and latest technology in order to take correct managerial decisions. The Commerce Dept. is in charge of the Club.

 

Energy Conservation Club: The members of this club are highly conscious of the global energy crisis and aim to contribute towards relieving the same. The members attempt to come up with energy saving techniques and applications. Plans are on to install a solar energy panel in the College. The panel shall be connected to the Physics lab, thus making it energy efficient and cost-effective

 

Fitness Club: Sound mind in a Sound body - this dictum is taken very seriously. Our Fitness Club employs a Yoga instructor in order to teach the techniques propounded by this ancient system. The gym is also put at the disposal of the members.

 

Health Club: The aim of this club is to encourage students and thus in the long run the society to live better and to enjoy the benefits of a healthy life. Awareness regarding disease prevention, exercise regimes, food habits finds a place in the club's plan of action.

 

IT Club: A very modern concept, the IT club is for computer buffs. The basics of computers and internet are taught to fledgling members and then all the members go into the intricacies of the operating systems. A computer language of their choice is taught and nuances of programming are explained. Advances in computer and electronic technology are discussed and the members browse for informative websites that are later discussed.

 

Kuruvi Nature Club: A club for nature enthusiasts, it has special relevance in today's world where environmental concerns have taken centre stage. The Kuruvi Nature Club meets to discuss environmental hotspots. The members are also taken on field trips. Talks by eminent environmentalists are conducted to raise awareness
The club also boasts of a medicinal plant garden that is named Mother Frances' Medicinal Plant Garden. A rich collection of herbs and plants grow there and periodic exhibitions inform the students about their merits. Plans are also on to start a nursery.

 

Mother Teresa Human Values Club: This club is the arm of the college that contributes towards the welfare and relief of the underprivileged of the community . The Human Values Club has been extolled for the humane qualities that it has instilled in the students and also for making them aware of their social duties. The club has taken upon itself to supply medicines to cancer patients and to the abject poor.

 

Music Club: The Music Club serves to enhance the aesthetic tastes of our students and helps them cope with the stress of academic life. Peri­odic get togethers of the musically inclined of our college have led to some really great performances by way of classical, western, ghazal and even rock music.

 

Reading Club: The Reading Club is a very dynamic agency that believes in creating a well read generation. The members meet to discuss the works they have read and to debate on the merits and demerits of the authors and works. The latest books are made available to the members and they hold exhibitions on a writer of their choice. Interviews with famous writers is also a regular venture of this club.

 

Science Club: The Club encourages members to explore the various avenues provided by science through research and discussions. Seminars and lectures by eminent scientists are also on the club agenda.

 

Save Green Club: This club is the outcome of an intense desire to make students cognizant of the pressing ecological and forest related issues that affect the world. The club has adopted stretches of land in the college campus and has planted trees such as neem that are beneficial to the environment.

 

Students Counselling Club: A group of compassionate seniors get together and offer counselling, study aids and material support for the underprivileged students who approach them. Aqualified counsellor is also appointed by the Club who offers advice to the students and recommends select students for assistance by way of study or material aids.

 

Quiz Club: 'Sixth Sense, the All Saints' College Quiz Club, meets on a weekly basis. Its aim is to help the students acquire a strong base in general knowledge and to make them aware of current issues.
